The word Yalawa comes from the Wonnarua language and translates to ‘sit remain rest’.

This word is the inspiration for this project and has served me personally as a call to inaction in this busy and chaotic world. It is an invitation to pause and go slowly… to Yalawa.

I am honoured & humbled everyday to call Wonnarua Country home.

The palkirr (mountains) inspire me, the pilapay (valley) protects me and the panyal (sun) warms me.
This rich parray (earth) and fresh patu (water) nourishes me, my puripay (husband) and my pupung (babies).

I pay deep respect to elders of this land past, present and emerging; to the songlines of this land, the dreaming and our collective healing.

Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
